Windmill Glass Artwork
These pieces are inspired by the landscapes of Western Australia.
The process begins with the background, colouring the glass with glass powders applied by hand. Another layer of glass is then fused over the original piece. After the first firing, glass powders are applied through a silk screen. Depending on the image desired, this process maybe repeated with multiple screens, firing each portion of the image separately. Lastly, the shape of the glass is changed by firing it over a mold. Each separate firing takes 20 hours.
Various windmill with gum trees images are used for these pieces. The image and placement is different for each piece, making each artwork unique.
