Orange Banksia
Botanic name: Banksia burdettii
Also known as: Burdett's banksia
A lovely small evergreen tree with a spreading, dome-shaped habit. Flowers profusely, starting in its second or third summer from seed, producing a full display of large, bright, two-tone orange cone-shaped flowers up to 18cm (7″) long, scattered among its contrasting green serrated-edged leaves. Grows to about 2.5m (8′) and 2m (7′) across.
Attracts nectar feeding birds. Provides plenty of flowers for garden display and for excellent fresh cut flowers or for dried flowers.
Wildflower Seed Starter granules are helpful to boost germination.
