About Teresa Fernandez:

Teresa Fernandez is an Australian artist who finds inspiration in everyday life.

She prefers to work with subject matter that is easily accessible. The things that form part of our daily rituals, the things we keep and use each day, the places we visit regularly, how it feels to be in those spaces and what emotions and reactions are ignited. Teresa paints botanical, still life and tablescapes which often feature plants from her neighbourhood, mid century vases from her collection or table settings that hark back to the past. There is often a sense of nostalgia in the work, reflecting on the past brings meaning to the present and she is interested in the emotions that arise. Her Spanish heritage and love of coffee often feature in her work.
