Jen Mellor

Jen Mellor is a Western Australian artist who is passionate about painting the beauty of her natural environment. She works from her studio in Perth and outdoors, among nature.

On many occasions Jen can be found in Kings Park and Botanic Gardens, absorbed in a painting, surrounded by the beauty of the Australian flora. Her love affair with Kings Park started many years ago and she has been represented by Aspects  as one of Perth’s botanical artists since 2016. She has been a feature artist during the Kings Park Festival and at special in-store events.

Jen likes to paint in a free-flowing manner, favouring a heavy application of thick textured paint, palette knife and energetic brush strokes onto canvas, linen or board. She loves to use a strong tonal colour palette, together with the play of light to give her paintings dynamic and expressive character.
